DIY Cycle Frame Paint Facemask guide

The best facemask types for painting bike frames. DIY. Filter classes.

Well, we've got:

1. Masks (rectangle fabric with elastics) - let's leave them alone this time.

2. Respiratory - this ones we are interested

Next division we've got is:

1. Disposable - we are interested in next ones. so let's just quickly go thru. There are 3 classes FPP (Filtering Facepiece) of disposables:

FFP1, filters approx. 80% of the particles

FFP2,filters approx. 94% of the particles

FFP3,filters approx. 98% of the particles, minimum and not a full protection against 2K (epoxy substances) and definitely not to be used indoors.

2. Reusable Respiratory - greater proteciton, they can be used against more hazardous substances, depands of the filter type and the respiratory type it self as well.

Reusable Respiratory can be  FULL FACE or HALF FACE (sepparate glasses advised to be worn) and they devide as well for FILTER BASED (DIY & proffesionals) or EXTERNAL OXYGENE SUPPLY (more likely proffesionals).

FILTERS

Coded by letters-numbers and colours. For painting pushbike as DIY I am using "BROWN WHITE A2P3":

Brown Strip & A means: against organic gases and vapours (boiling point > 65°C),

White Strip & P means: against particles

Numbers are the the classes of filtration where 3 is the greater and 1 the weacker.

Please bear that in mind that if you feel any smell or taste of the substances it is wrong fit or wrong type of mask.

I Hope that was any help.
